HOULTON — Voter participation in Houlton last Tuesday resulted in “a really good turnout for a primary election,” said Cathy O’Leary, the town’s election warden. O’Leary said 1,003 residents voted and “the numbers were very high compared to past primary years.”
Although Houlton has completed its final count, other towns are still sending in their numbers and the state is involved in a number of recounts. Therefore, “the official tabulation of all results of the primary election will be available after June 28,” according to Julie Flynn, deputy secretary of state for the Bureau of Corporation, Elections and Commissions.
To avoid any confusion, the Pioneer Times will publish election results when the numbers are official.
