Knoxville, TN – Emma P, Whitt, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 8, 2010. Emma was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend to many. Emma led a full life and had a long-term career in the insurance industry prior to her illness. She was a long time member of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Knoxville and was involved in many organizations and groups, including the Ladies of Charity, Knights of Columbus, National Association of Insurance Women, and was an avid pro-life supporter.
Preceded in death by husband, Howard Whitt, Jr; parents, Leon and Rose Anna Plourde; daughters, Bonnie J. Tomes and Elizabeth Whitt; siblings, Louise Espling, Rita Phelan and Cecile Espling; grandchildren, James Oran, Donnie Branum and Brandon Whitt. She is survived by sons, Richard Whitt and Howard Whitt III and daughter-in-law, Joyce Whitt; beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth Beaulieu, Laura Sweeney, Louis Plourde, Regina Beaumier, Joe Plourde, Theresa Andrews, Florence White, George Plourde and Anne Plourde.
