If you were in Aroostook County in the 1960s and early ’70s you will remember the fledgling rock and roll bands that played around The County on Fridays and Saturdays. Some of them even traveled to Bangor and points south to play and compete in battle of the bands competitions.
One of those great bands is back in town for their 40th reunion and will be providing a “Blast From The Past II” at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center on Friday, Aug. 13 from 6-10 p.m.
Superintendent of Parks and Recreation Kathy Mazzuchelli indicated that the Korporation, a well known local band from the late ’60s, has offered to have a second reunion concert as part of the Class of 1970’s 40th class reunion. The concert will be a true blast from the past geared for all ages with great rock and roll, a nostalgic Reno’s Pizza motif and some great rock and roll trivia games. Hits on the Run DJ will be there to add to the fun and celebrate some of the dance craze from years ago, as well as some new moves too.
Mazzuchelli noted admission is $2 per person for all ages and, of course, there will be Reno’s pizza and drinks available for a small fee “This is a wonderful opportunity for folks to get together and reminisce and to have a great night of family entertainment,” Mazzuchelli said.
