Caribou Middle School October Students of the Month

CARIBOU, Maine — Susan White, principal at the Caribou Middle School, and the CMS grades 6-8 teachers have announced their selections for October’s Student of the Month.

Emma Belyea, a member of the sixth grade was named October Student of the Month by her teachers, Ms. Sarah Lajoie and Mrs. Cathy Bouchard who said, “Emma is a homeroom representative to the Student Organization for Room 105. She is an extremely hard worker, independent thinker and a great help to both students and teachers.

“Athletically Emma participates in track, cross-country skiing and cross-country running,” added the CMS teachers, “she is also a member of the CMS band and constantly strives to do and be the best that she can be.”

Meg  Boone, a grade-six student was selected as the October Student of the Month by her teachers Mrs. Ruth Dionne and Mr. John Pelletier. The team teachers stated, “Meg is a very conscientious student who maintains a high honor average. She is a friendly young lady who always has a smile on her face.”

“Meg, is respectful of both her peers and teachers and is always willing to help others in need. She is a member of the Caribou Middle School band and participates in rec soccer and AYBL basketball,” the teachers added.

Molly Adams, is a seventh-grade student named Student of the Month for October by her CMS teachers, Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt, Ms. Shelly Richardson and Mrs. Steve Perreault. The team teachers stated, Molly’s leadership abilities are exceptional. She refuses to be dragged down into wrong actions by peer pressure and she is an outspoken advocate of following the rules. She is a tremendous leader in grade 7, both by her words and especially her actions. Molly is also a very polite and well-mannered young lady,” added the CMS teachers, “quite above typical grade 7 students.”

“Molly is a high honor student and is the student representative for Room 113. She is never afraid to stand up for all students, especially ones who are having a hard time or need some help,” added her teachers, “ she is an absolute pleasure to have in our classes.” The CMS instructors also noted that Molly was the leading goal scorer on the CMS girls’ soccer team this year and that she plays with atypical tenacity and determination.

Trevor Ellis, a member of the CMS seventh grade was selected as Student of the Month of October by his teachers Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt, Ms. Shelly Richardson and Mr. Steve Perreault.

The CMS team teachers stated, “Trevor is a motivated student who works diligently in class. He is respectful to his peers and teachers alike. He is very deserving of this recognition.”

Elise Gudde, an eighth-grade student was named Student of the Month for October by her CMS teachers, Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper, Mr. Travis Barnes, Mr. Troy Barnes and Mr. Ralph Fantasia.  “Elise has been active on numerous sports teams during her time at CMS including the cross-country ski and track teams. She has also been a member of band and chorus for each of her four years here, as well as participating the Gifted and Talented Art Program,” said her teachers.

“Elise has been a homeroom representative to Student Organization the past two years,” continued the teachers, “and she was also a member of the Civil Right Team during her sixth-grade year. She has been an exceptional student this year, and is known for her politeness and willingness to help staff and other students.”

Drew Lajoie, a member of the eighth grade was chosen to be Student of the Month for October by her teachers Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper, Mr. Travis Barnes, Mr. Troy Barnes and Mr. Ralph Fantasia. The CMS teachers said, “Drew was chosen because of her willingness to help others and her ability to set an example for all who attend CMS.”

“Drew, in her years at Caribou Middle School, has been involved in band, chorus, soccer and softball,” continued her teachers, “as an eighth-grader, she plans to be a member of the Drama Club, basketball and softball teams. She is always willing to help a fellow classmate or teacher, often without being asked. Drew is a wonderful role model to all students and sets a great example regarding schoolwork and the treatment of fellow classmates, schoolmates, teachers and adults.”
