    Ward, Richard W., 94, January 25, 2011.  A memorial will be held in the spring.
    Richard Ward, realtor and garden designer, beloved husband, father, and step-father, died January 25, 2011 age 94. Born in Houlton, Maine, the son of Dr. Parker Ward and Diadama Sharp Ward, he graduated from Boston University, and attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
    His first wife, Martha Fisher, was mother of their daughter, Renée, a physician and professor at Vanderbilt University. His life was deeply transformed by his Jungian analysis with Renée Brand, for whom his daughter was named.
    His personal garden was featured in Sunset Magazine and on a local garden tour. He designed several gardens from Marin to British Columbia.
    In 1996, he married Karlyn J. Hanks, a Jungian analyst. They lived deeply and fully, sharing a love of Jung, music, and nature.
    He is survived by his wife, Karlyn; daughter, Renée; grand-daughter, Cordelia; son-in-law Jeffrey Blume, and step-children David Hanks and Amy Hanks.
    A memorial will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity, or to the C. G. Jung Institute of San Francisco, designated for study of Jung’s original writings.
