        HOULTON – Thomas A. Smith, 40, died February 19, 2011 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side. He was born November 8, 1970 in Houlton, the son of Carl and Ella (White) Smith.
    He was a very devoted husband and father.
    Besides his parents of Oakfield he is survived by his wife, Gidget (Graham) Smith of Houlton; four children, Dustin Smith of Island Falls, McKayla Graham of Houlton, John Woodbury of MA, and Brooklynn Smith of Houlton; one granddaugther, Taylor Lizotte; a brother, Ernest Smith and his wife, Regina of Limestone; a sister, Carla Cummings and her husband, Troy of Ft. Hood, TX; his in-laws, Mary Wiley and Gene Stoddard and Dana and Debbie Graham; brother-in-law, Lucas Wiley and his companion, Lori Brown, Halston Wiley II, Montie and Sarah Graham, Shawn and Angela Graham, sister-in-law, Dana and Chad McAfee; a few aunts and uncles; nine nieces and one nephew; very special friends, Dan Bouchard and Oliver Cromwell. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest White and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Smith;  a uncle, Donnis White; a aunt, Gloria Conners; a niece, CJ Smith; a brother-in-law, Roland Mortimer.
    Friends called 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton where funeral services were held at 11 a.m. with Pastors Chester Ammons, Dave Tuttle and Dan Bouchard officiating.
