PRESQUE ISLE — It will be a night of music, mystery and fun as the SAD 1 Music Boosters will hold a fundraiser Saturday night in which one lucky music lover will win a $500 “mystery” gift.
“Music and Mystery,” an evening of performances by more than 30 student musicians with the Presque Isle Middle School Jazz Band, Presque Isle High School Jazz Band, and the PIHS Jazz Choir, will be held at 7 p.m. April 30 at the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center.
“Proceeds from the event will benefit the SAD 1 Music Boosters and the PIHS band and chorus 2012 music trip,” said music booster Athena Hallowell. “The trip typically takes place every four years and takes the students to a major city for an exciting, educational and cultural experience.”
In addition to some great music, attendees Saturday will enjoy delectable desserts, hot and cold beverages, and a chance to win a $500 mystery gift donated by Carroll’s Auto Sales. Additional chances to win will be sold for $5 throughout the evening.
The evening’s festivities will also include both a live and silent auction. Steve and Lucy Richard will serve as the emcees and auctioneers.
More than 50 items will be up for bid including a kayak and paddle, hot air balloon ride for two, a dinner party for six guests, three-month memberships to the SAD 1 Fitness Center, four tickets to “Piano Men: A Tribute to Elton and Billy,” a “Night on the Town” package which includes a chauffeur, appetizers at the Irish Setter Pub, dinner at the Crow’s Nest and a night at the Hampton Inn; an Afghani carpet, Vera Bradley items, backpacking/hiking package, art pieces, cookware, Zumba class gift certificates, bakery items, gift certificates to local businesses and restaurants, and more.
Tickets to “Music and Mystery” are $25 per person or $175 for a table of eight. Table sponsors will be listed in the evening’s program. Your ticket is also your chance at the $500 “mystery” gift. Tickets are available at the main office of PIHS or by calling Karen LeBlanc at 769-2258 or Athena Hallowell at 551-8497.
