Ala, Norsworthy win Fort crowns

FORT FAIRFIELD — Originally scheduled for April 1 but postponed due to a late-season snowstorm, the 2011 Little Miss Fort Fairfield and 2011 Miss Pre-Teen Fort Fairfield pageants were rescheduled to April 15 at the Fort Fairfield Middle High School Gymnasium.

CAMRYN ALA,
winner of the 2011 Little Miss Fort Fairfield Pageant,
was escorted by Brendan Osterblom.
She is the daughter of John and Emily Ala.
Four young ladies competed in each category, with Camryn Ala earning the Little Miss crown, while Kaley Norsworthy walked away with the Miss Pre-Teen title.

KALEY NORSWORTHY,
daughter of Travis and Liane Norsworthy,
won the title of 2011 Miss Pre-Teen Fort Fairfield.
She was escorted during the event by Brendan Osterblom.
Kaley Norsworthy performed an accordion piece called “French Gig” on her way to winning the Pre-Teen crown. The daughter of Travis and Liane Norsworthy, she was sponsored by Murchison Computer Sales. Her escort for the night was Brendan Osterblom.

was escorted by Houston Keiser
during the 2011 Little Miss Fort Fairfield Pageant.
Kara Poitras was the first contestant in the Little Miss category. The daughter of Kenneth and Cheryl Poitras, she sang “Animal Crackers In My Soup” for her talent. Sponsored by Acadia Medical Supply, Poitras was escorted by Houston Keiser.
Ala was next, dancing to “Cotton Eye Joe,” on her way to winning her division. The daughter of John and Emily Ala, she was sponsored by Blue Moose Lodge. Brendon Osterblom served as Ala’s escort for the evening.

for the 2011 title of Little Miss Fort Fairfield.

took her final walk as 2010 Little Miss Fort Fairfield,
accompanied by her brother, Mike Mink.
She is the daughter of Maryann and the late Mike Mink.
Mariah Mink, Little Miss Fort Fairfield 2010, and Gracie Griffeth, Miss Pre-Teen Fort Fairfield 2010, were also on hand, each performing one last time as reigning royalty, before relinquishing their titles to their successors, Ala and Norsworthy.

Ala and Norsworthy will now represent Fort Fairfield at various functions in the coming year and will compete in the Potato Blossom Festival in their hometown in July. Should either of them be crowned Potato Queen or be unable to fulfill their duties, the first runner-ups in their respective divisions will assume the titles.
