Gagnon, Dennis, 81, of Caribou, at Caribou, on April 28, 2011. Interment will be in the New Holy Rosary Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.


AR Dennis GagnonCaribou — Dennis “Junior” Gagnon, 81, died April 28, 2011, at his Caribou residence. He was born in Caribou, August 27, 1929, the son of the late Dennis and Odianna (Caron) Gagnon Sr. Mr. Gagnon attended the Caribou schools, was a lifelong member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and served with the Army National Guard for several years. For many years, he was employed by the Aroostook Federation of Farmers. He was also employed by the Keenan Auction Company as well as Agway. Following his retirement, Mr. Gagnon worked at Portland News for his son Frank. He married his teenage sweetheart, Jeannette Corbin June 30, 1947. They were married for over 63 years. Dennis would always comment whenever asked that “Mom is everything to me” and that he would never change anything in his life and that he would “Marry her all over again because she is the best thing that ever happened to me.” Dennis will be remembered by many as a simple man whose whole world was his wife and family. He was a man who loved to talk about anything and he would always brag about his family and how proud he was of all of them.

 

Surviving in addition to his wife, Jeannette of Caribou are his four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Darrell Gagnon of Dover, FL., Cynthia and Russell Wilcox of Caribou and Denise and Patrick McCormack of Woodland and Janet and Joseph Pignatiello of Wade; his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frank Iris Gagnon of Benton; three sisters, Pearl Davis of Okla., Rena Hutchins of New Hampshire, and Shirley Labobe of Caribou; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Gagnon was predeceased by his two sons, Dale D. Gagnon on Feb. 18, 2006 and Frank D. Gagnon on April 27, 2007; three brothers, Gilman, Harold and Gary; as well as two sisters, Lorraine Huston and Joyce Gagnon.

Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 6-8 pm Monday, where evening prayer services were held at 6:30 pm. A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011, from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church with V. Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, officiating.
