LITTLETON, Maine — An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a Littleton man wanted on multiple warrants Friday evening after he fled from Maine State Police officers.
According to Sgt. Tom Pelletier of the Maine State Police, authorities received a tip that Ronald Lewis, 21, was staying at a residence in Littleton and was wanted on numerous warrants. State Trooper Rob Flynn confirmed that the warrants were valid for failure to appear in Houlton Superior Court for sentencing on robbery, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. He was also wanted on a violation of condition of release warrant from Houlton District Court.
Trooper Flynn responded to the U.S. Route 1 location in Littleton and upon his arrival found that Lewis had fled through an open window in the back of the residence.
A search for Lewis ensued and Trooper Dennis Quint, Trooper Dan Marquis and U.S. Border Patrol Agents from Houlton assisted trooper Flynn.
At approximately midnight, a Littleton resident, whom police did not identify, called to report that Lewis had been hiding in a pickup belonging to the caller, a short distance from where he had fled earlier in the evening. Trooper Quint responded to the residence and arrested Lewis without incident.
In addition to the warrants, Lewis was also charged with trafficking in dangerous weapons or knives. Lewis is being held without bail at the Aroostook County Jail.
