The comfort of playing on their home field led to a pair of victories for the Caribou baseball and softball teams Thursday over Fort Kent.
Dean Walker and Matt Curry combined on a five-hitter as the Viking baseball team rolled to a 15-5 win.

Caribou had 10 hits off Warrior pitching, with Caleb Chapman providing three with a double and two singles. He had two RBIs on the afternoon. Teammate Matt Kamm added a three-run double.
Caribou is now 1-4 after being swept at Ellsworth Saturday by scores of 11-8 and 11-1.
In the first game, Adam Chartier doubled and drove in two runs and Stephen St. Peter doubled and singled. Caribou’s bats were silenced in game two as freshman Cody Pettingill tossed a three-hitter.
The Caribou softball team received 14 strikeouts from junior Emily Staples Thursday in a 7-1 triumph.
Jordyn Doucette paced the Vikings at the plate with three hits and three RBIs. Jamie Martin had two hits and scored a pair of runs, while Rebecca McDougal had two singles and an RBI and Madison Outing added a two-run double.
On Saturday, Caribou split a twinbill against Ellsworth, losing the first game 5-4 and coming back to take the second by the same score.
Outing went 3 for 3, while Tia McHatten and Anesha Hersey had three hits each. Staples struck out nine batters in the complete-game loss.
The Vikes took game two by scoring four times in the fifth to grab the lead for good. Hershey’s two-run single was the key blow, while Kristin Plante went 3 for 3 in the game to aid Staples, who struck out nine and walked only one.
The Limestone-MSSM softball team moved to 4-0 with a 26-12 win over Southern Aroostook. Daniele Pelkey and Karen Page combined for four hits and four RBIs.
Winning pitcher Amanda Allen helped her cause with a double and a single and three RBIs in the Monday game in Dyer Brook.
