FORT FAIRFIELD — Larry Gardner, director of Tiger Basketball Camp, has announced that Randy Norsworthy, coach of the Washburn boys varsity team, and Ryan Deprey, coach of the Caribou girls, will be clinicians at this year’s camp.
“We are really excited to have both Randy and Ryan coming to put on clinics for the kids attending our camp. Both are well respected for their knowledge of the game and will certainly add to the learning experience of our campers by providing on-the-court demonstrations involving the players,” Gardner said.
A “skills challenge” has been added for the 21st annual camp. Gardner said players will go through a timed series of skills at the beginning of the week and then again at the end of the week to see how they have improved.
“I think the kids will really enjoy this,” he said.
Also new at this year’s camp is the addition of Pizza Hut as a corporate sponsor. The restaurant will provide every boy and girl attending camp with a free pizza.
“It’s one more thing we’ve added to provide value to our program,” Gardner added.
University of Maine women’s players Samantha Wheeler and Rachel Burns will be working at the girls’ week of Tiger Basketball Camp from June 27-July 1, according to Gardner. The boys camp is the previous week from June 20-24.
