The Caribou Public Library will celebrate 100 years of library services with an Open House on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 1-3 pm.  This event will feature the special guest appearance by Donn Fendler, who will discuss his harrowing adventures as a young boy, being lost on Mount Katahdin, as depicted in the Joseph B. Egan book “Lost on a Mountain in Maine.”

Fendler who is now in his early 80s, will also sign books. Copies of “Lost on a Mountain in Maine,” will be available for $6  each.

In addition to Fendler’s program, guests attending the anniversary open house will have an opportunity to participate in a number of activities from 2-3 p.m. including playing games from the 1911 era, a chance to sign up for door prizes, enjoy birthday cake, peruse book displays from the 1911 era and more.

Staff members will be dressed in period clothing during this event and visitors are invited to do the same, if desired
