UP, UP AND AWAY
This young couple enjoyed one of the rides at the fair, taking in the sights and sounds of the Northern Maine Fair from several feet above ground. They are Katelin Collins and Tim Voisine, both of Fort Kent.
FUN WITH DADDY
Shania Morin, 6, of Fort Kent, gets a ride from her dad, Robbie Morin, to get a better look over the fence at the truck pulls at the fair.
HORSE WHISPERER
Steve Akeley, an equine dentist originally from Aroostook County but now residing in Damariscotta, is pictured taking a pair of draft horses for a walk near the 4-H stables at the Northern Maine Fair.
Akeley not only performed demonstrations at the fair but took the time to make a few house calls during his time here, performing on-site dentistry to the delight of local horse owners.
“Blue Lady”
RODS, RIDES AND RELICS filled the Forum on Saturday, July 30, at the Northern Maine Fair.
Pictured with her “Blue Lady” is owner Bonnie Folsom, of Presque Isle, joined by North Country Cruisers Show Chair Tim McAtee, of Houlton.
McAtee said his group will be hosting an event Aug. 27-28 at the Littleton Agricultural Museum, including a Fun Day and Car Show on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., complete with food booth.
Monica
WITH EYES LIKE THOSE, few could resist visiting with Monica, at left, an alpaca owned by Richard Porter of Spudland Alpacas in Blaine.
The Porters had several animals on exhibit at this year’s fair in Presque Isle.
