Pee Wee Soccer
The pee wee soccer program for boys and girls in grades 2 and 3 will be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:50-4:15 p.m. at the small soccer field located in front of the Fort Fairfield Elementary School starting on Aug. 30 and ending on Oct. 20.
Participants should meet in the elementary school cafeteria immediately after school and be properly equipped and clothed for the program including: sneakers or soccer shoes, shin guards, and clothing appropriate for the weather of the day.
The pee wee soccer program attempts to teach children the basic fundamentals, skills, rules, conditioning, and the game concept of soccer while emphasizing sportsmanship, participation and fair play. Teams may be selected from all those who register, depending on the number of participants to enroll in the program. Some of the boys and girls who sign up for the pee wee soccer program will also have the opportunity to play in soccer games with other teams from throughout Aroostook County this season.
Registration forms are available at the elementary school or at the community center and must be filled out by parents prior to participation.
Youth Soccer
The youth soccer program is for boys and girls in grades 4-6 and will be held on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2:50-4:30 p.m. at the small soccer field located in front of the Fort Fairfield Elementary School starting on Aug. 29 and ending on Oct. 19.
Participants should meet in the elementary school cafeteria immediately after school and be properly equipped and clothed for the program including: sneakers or soccer shoes, shin guards, and clothing appropriate for the day. The youth soccer program will attempt to further develop the fundamentals, skills, conditioning, rule interpretation, and the game concept of soccer while emphasizing participation, teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship.
Sixth graders participating on the middle school soccer teams are reminded that they can play youth soccer as well as middle school soccer and if there is a conflict on certain days between the two programs you are encouraged to fulfill your commitment to the middle school team first (middle school soccer will end on September 22).
Registration forms are available at school or at the community center and must be filled out by parents prior to participation in the program.
