“Show and Shine” event set for this weekend

The North Country Cruisers will be holding their 12th annual “Show and Shine” event at the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum this weekend, Aug. 27-28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“It’s lots of fun,” said Tim McAtee of the Cruisers. “There is lots of food, games and door prizes.”

This year, the Show and Shine features 21 classes, including Kid Stuff and Under Construction. Three trophies will be presented per class, with some surprises.

On Saturday, the Cruisers will be holding pre-registration for the Sunday show, along with games, good music and a cruise at 2 p.m.

On Sunday, vehicles will be judged in the Show and Shine, along with highlighting the “American Loggers” pull truck— Pelletier’s Pride — from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More games, music, giveaways and an award ceremony at 2 p.m. will wrap up the day’s events.

Admission is free.

Bring a toy for the “Cruisin’ for Kids” toy drive and receive a free hot dog and soda.

Last year, the Show and Shine event drew more than 200 cars from Maine and New Brunswick.

Cruisin’ calendars will also be on sale to benefit the “Cruisin’ for Kids” toy drive.
