The second Annual “Share the Warmth” clothing drive at Southern Aroostook Community School will be held Friday, Sept. 30, from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 1, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Living in a rural community, I am sure most of you would agree with me in saying that we are like family in many ways,” said Jessica Walker, guidance director for SACS and event organizer. “We come together in times of need, times of sorrow, and times of happiness to help and support those who need it most.”
The “Share the Warmth” is a clothing drive for everyone in the community. People are asked to save unsoiled items including clothing of all sizes, shoes, coats, winter outdoor attire and handbags/purses. These items may be dropped off at SACS Monday-Friday (Sept. 26-30) between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Those that have items, but cannot make it to the school to drop it off during those times can call Walker at 757-8206.
“This is a free clothing drive,” Walker said. “Times are hard and clothing and such items can be expensive. Please share your warmth with others this year and do what you can to support the clothing drive. Thank you in advance for your support with this initiative.”
