Caribou native promoted at Katahdin Trust Company

BU-Kouhoupt-CLR-dcx-AR-41Katahdin Trust Company President and CEO Jon Prescott has announced that Aaron Kouhoupt has been promoted to General Counsel and Compliance Officer. In his new role, Kouhoupt will be responsible for managing the Bank’s legal process as well as overseeing the compliance risk management program to ensure adherence with regulatory requirements.

“Aaron has earned this promotion through his dedication, hard work, and the benefits he has brought to the Bank with his experience in law and research,” Prescott said. “As the regulatory environment continues to present new challenges, it is important that we remain diligent in our efforts to remain compliant in all areas and Aaron will be a tremendous asset to us in this area.”

A Caribou native, Kouhoupt joined Katahdin Trust Company as Compliance Officer in 2006. He is a graduate of University of Maine at Presque Isle where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from Rutgers University School of Law in New Jersey. Kouhoupt was admitted to the Maine Bar Association in May 2007.

Active in civic endeavors, Kouhoupt currently serves as President for Helping Hands of Aroostook and previously served on the board of directors for the Presque Isle Chamber of Commerce and on the adjunct faculty for University of Maine at Presque Isle.
