The girls’ high school regular soccer season has concluded and now teams are gearing up for the playoffs.
The Presque Isle Wildcats used the past week to move up in Eastern Maine Class B by posting some big wins over Hermon, Caribou and Fort Kent.

The Fort Fairfield Tigers helped their standing in Class D by playing the Washburn Beavers to a 5-all tie.

Presque Isle 4, Caribou 0 — The Presque Isle Wildcats coming off a big win over Hermon set their sights on Caribou Monday night. The two teams played to a tie in their first meeting of the year in Caribou.
Chelsea Nickerson scored one goal and assisted on another during a four-goal, first-half outburst that propelled the Wildcats to victory.
Kayla Richards and Megan Ireland tallied unassisted goals and Hannah Graham scored off an Emma Bartlett assist for 12-1-1 Presque Isle. Meredith Stewart had five saves on five shots.
Caribou’s record drops to 10-2-2.
Fort Fairfield 5, Washburn 5 — At Fort Fairfield Monday, Logan Bubar scored three times in a span of 3 1/2 minutes of the second half to rally the Tigers to put the first blemish on Washburn’s record this year.
After the Beavers took a 5-2 halftime lead, Bubar caught fire. She scored 8:23 into the second half, followed it up with a score 10:02 in and closed the scoring 12:10 in.
Washburn had shut out Fort Fairfield 4-0 on Sept. 1.
Nicole Giberson and Janae Libby scored the first two goals for Fort Fairfield (8-4-2), and Emily Blaisdell had an assist. Katy Donovan made seven saves on 14 shots.
Kristi Sperrey tallied three goals for Washburn, which finished the regular season at 13-0-1. Carsyn Koch scored the other two goals, Mackenzie Worcester collected two assists and Carmen Bragg added one. Rayah Saucier made eight saves on 16 shots.
Caribou 2, John Bapst 1 — Two penalty kicks by Hannah Hebert in the first 10 minutes of the Vikings game against John Bapst Saturday proved to be the difference in a 2-1 win over the Crusaders.
Morgan Swan stopped eight of 10 shots for the 10-1-2 Vikings.
Washburn 7, LCS/MSSM 1 — At Washburn Saturday, Kennedy Churchill scored two goals as Washburn defeated Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.
Joan Overman, Carmen Bragg, Kristi Sperrey, Carsyn Koch and Mikayla Churchill each added a goal for the 13-0 Beavers. Kelsey Churchill and Olivia Doody each grabbed an assist. Rayah Saucier made six saves on 13 shots.
Kenedi Smith scored the lone goal for the 2-9-2 Eagles. Jordyn Hopkins stopped 14 of 30 shots.
Washburn 2, Van Buren 1 — The Washburn Beavers upped their record to 12-0 by winning a squeaker in Van Buren on Thursday.
Kennedy Churchill’s goal off an assist by Carsyn Koch with nine minutes left in the second half snapped a 1-1 tie and enabled Washburn to remain unbeaten.
Kenzie Worcester also scored for the Beavers, while Ryah Saucier preserved the shutout in goal by making eight saves on nine Van Buren shots.
Natasha Bourgoin scored on a Chantal Rioux assist for 8-5 Van Buren. Ashlie Wilson made 19 saves on 24 shots for the Crusaders.
Central Aroostook 3, Fort Fairfield 2 — At Mars Hill Thursday, Whitney Klein scored the tiebreaking goal off a Rachel Grew corner kick with 22 minutes left in the second half to lift Central Aroostook to the win.
Grew also scored a goal for the 5-6-3 Panthers, as did Brea York.
Danielle Dudley and Kylee Carter each scored for 6-6-1 Easton, with Carter’s goal forging a 2-2 tie two minutes into the second half.
Vicki McIntyre and Michaela King combined to make six saves on 10 shots for Central Aroostook. Haley Ambrose made one save on seven shots for Easton.
Madawaska 4, LCS/MSSM 0 — At Limestone, Natalie Cyr scored two goals to lead the Owls past the Eagles.
Samantha Nadeau and Meagan Ouellette also tallied for 6-5-1 Madawaska, and Shannon Blanchette posted two assists. ‘Keeper Amanda Nadeau made nine saves on 18 shots.
Jordyn Hopkins made 30 saves on 39 shots for 2-7-2 Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.
Fort Fairfield 1, Central Aroostook 0 — Fort Fairfield and Central Aroostook played an even match Oct. 11, except for a lone first half goal, which gave the Tigers a 1-0 win over the Panthers.
Kylie Plourde’s goal came during a scramble in the middle. She got control of the ball at about the 6-yard line on the left side of the goal and fired the ball into the far corner. Kacie York had the assist. Katie Donovan stopped both shots she faced to make that goal stand up for Fort Fairfield, now 8-4-1.
Victoria McIntyre made five saves on nine shots for 4-6-3 Central Aroostook.
LCS/MSSM 2, Wisdom 2 — At Limestone Oct. 11, Stephanie Leighton scored a goal and assisted on one to help the Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics tie the Pioneers 2-2.
Kennedi Smith added a goal for 2-7-2 Limestone and Jordan Hopkins made 10 saves on 19 shots.
Morgan Dumond’s goal late in the second half sent the game into the scoreless overtimes for 2-9-1 Wisdom of St. Agatha.
