EASTON – Carolyn Jean Holmes, 68, passed away Sunday night, Nov. 13, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born on Feb. 7, 1943, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Charles B. and Alma W. (Fulton) Ryder.

Carolyn enjoyed spending time with family, especially going out to eat with her mother and sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Jarvis Holmes of Easton; a sister, Betty Brewer and her husband, Steve of E. Plantation; two grandchildren: William Dale Holmes Jr. and Angel Dawn Holmes of Danforth; a special cousin, Cheryl McCann of Presque Isle; and her very special sister-in-laws, Evelyn Stickney and Delores Strout of Easton.

She was predeceased by her parents; her son, William “Billy” Holmes in 2007; her brother, Charles “Chuck” Ryder in 2003; and a sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Jake Dumond.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2011, at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou, with Rev. Larry Palmer officiating.
