PRESQUE ISLE – Gordon L. Lawless Sr., 86, died Nov. 10, 2011, at a health care facility in Penobscot. He was born in Presque Isle, on Nov. 19, 1924, the son of John M. Lawless.
He worked for Parker K. Bailey Co. in Presque Isle and Global Moving Co. in Rhode Island.
He is survived by the mother of his seven daughters, Joan Lawless Coty of Penobscot; two sons, Michael Lawless of Loganville, GA, and Gordon Lawless Jr. of Providence, RI; six daughters: Starlene Kotsikoros of Presque Isle, Susan Jarvais and her husband, Ronald of Atlantic Beach, FL, Patsy Archer Corriveau and her husband, Jerry of CA, Jean Day Brown of Presque Isle, Gail McNerney and her husband, Kevin of Hudson, Cathy Racine and her fiancé, James Kennedy of CT; 20 grandchildren; one being his granddaughter, Shannon Byrd who spent the last four years taking care of him; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Gradilione) Lawless; and a daughter, Alice Lawless.
Funeral services were held 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at the Church of Jesus with pastor Matthew Palmer officiating. Interment will be in Rhode Island at a later date. Donations may be made in support of his family to Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, P.O. Box 766, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
