Middle School Baseball

The Caribou Middle School boys’ baseball team opened their season with a win over Fort Fairfield with a score of 12-8 last Wednesday in Fort Fairfield.

Caribou had a 9-2 leading going into the bottom of the sixth inning but several walks and passed balls helped the Tigers get back into the game with the tying run on third and one out. Caribou’s Nick Frost had pitched one inning earlier and was called back in for relief to strike out the next two batters to end the threat.

Caribou added three more runs in the top of the seventh inning and Frost closed out the game.

The Vikings used six pitchers over seven innings to limit Fort Fairfield to two hits. Frost pitched two and two thirds innings striking out six in earning the save. Tyler Dombrowski got the win.

Caribou’s hitting was lead by Jacob Burby with two doubles and a single. Mason Huck, Michael Hunter and Dombrowski had two hits apiece.
