INAUGURAL FIRST DAY OF FLIGHT SERVICE

PenAir, an Alaska-based airline, marked its first full day of air service to the Northern Maine Regional Airport in Presque Isle with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held prior to the day’s first flight the morning of June 15. PenAir offers essential air service, with flights scheduled seven days a week.

Present for the ceremony were, from left: Theresa Fowler, executive director, Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce; Floyd Rockholt, CACC member; Jim McKenney, CACC president; Larry Clark, executive director, Presque Isle Industrial Council; Dave Hall, chief operating officer for PenAir; Ellen Nickerson, manager for PenAir’s Presque Isle division; Jim Davis, CACC member; Sharon Campbell, representative for Sen. Olympia Snowe; and Scott Wardwell, airport manager.
