Editor’s note: The following article is a synopsis written by staff members and volunteers of the Cary Public Library highlighting one of the suggested reading books, as determined by their staff.

Wait a minute! A structural engineer writing a book on crocheting? Robyn Chachula did! A new volume, “Crochet Stitches Visual Encyclopedia” has the needle tasks broken into easy to follow segments for 300 patterns and edgings from simple to complex and beyond. Full color swatches and detail diagrams are clear. Using this book a person can make granny squares, esme lace, glascow print and snowflakes. Amazing projects… let construction start and the fun of needle creating begin.

The Cary Public Library is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 532-1302.
