    HOULTON – Marjorie H. Coffin, 102, died Oct. 16, 2012 at a local healthcare facility. She was born Sept. 21, 1910 at Springvale, the daughter of Rev. Henry and Bertha (Grant) Huse.
    Marjorie graduated from North Haven (ME) High School, then went on to get her bachelor’s degree from Brown University (Pembroke) in 1933. After moving to Houlton in 1950, she taught English and Latin at Houlton High School from the late 50s to 1973. Since her retirement, Marjorie was a very active lifelong member of the Houlton Congregational Church and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She proudly served as a trustee of Nasson College in Springvale, ME for about a year.
    Marjorie is survived by her son, James Coffin of Hudson, MA; three grandchildren, Christopher, Nathaniel and Jennifer; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Rodney (John) Coffin, her son, Maj. John F. Coffin and her brother, Herbert Huse.
    Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dale Holden officiating. Interment was in the Ashland Cemetery.
