Two charged in Wade burglaries

    WADE — Two local men have been charged in connection with the burglary of a Wade residence in November.

    “On Nov. 25, Trooper Nick Casavant arrested and charged David Pelletier, 24, of Wade, with two counts of burglary and two counts of felony theft. The charges stem from Trooper Casavant’s investigation into two residential burglaries that had been reported in Wade the week prior,” said Sgt. Josh Haines, Maine State Police.

    Haines said Pelletier was also charged with an additional count of felony theft related to a separate theft from a family member.

    “Trooper Casavant has also charged Dennis Tardie, 24, of Mapleton, with felony receiving stolen property in relation to the burglaries,” said Haines.

    Several stolen items were recovered as a result of the investigation.

    “The investigation resulted in the recovery of stolen property with a value of several thousand dollars. The property included video games and consoles, a safe, collector coins, jewelry, a flat-screen TV, a chainsaw, airsoft guns and other items,” Haines said.

    A few days later, Pelletier and Tardie were handed additional charges.

    “On Nov. 3, Trooper Shawn Whalen charged Pelletier with burglary and theft and charged Tardie with theft related to another Wade burglary. Trooper Corey Hafford assisted at that burglary as a member of the Evidence Response Team. Trooper Whalen’s investigation also resulted in the recovery of stolen items with the value of several thousand dollars,” said Haines.
