BLAINE — A juvenile has been charged with criminal threatening, following an incident at a Blaine residence Friday afternoon.

“On Oct. 4 shortly after 1 p.m., the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a woman reporting three men had come to her home on the Grass Road in Blaine. The woman indicated she knew the three and provided police with their names,” said Chief Deputy Darrell Crandall, of the ACSO.
Crandall said the unidentified woman reported having an argument with one of the men, which led to him threatening her with a handgun and firing the gun into the air before leaving.
“Because of the nature of the call, sheriff’s deputies, state troopers, U.S. Border Patrol agents and game wardens responded,” he said.
A short time later, two of the men (an adult and a juvenile) were found at a home on the East Ridge Road in Mars Hill.
“The 17-year-old male juvenile was arrested and charged with criminal threatening and reckless conduct with a firearm. Deputies took him to the Aroostook County Jail. The adult was interviewed and released,” said Crandall.
Crandall said sheriff’s deputies obtained a search warrant for the home of the juvenile on the East Ridge Road, which was executed by deputies and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agents.
“Deputies recovered a firearm, ammunition, drugs and other evidence from the home. Deputies also collected evidence from the crime scene on the Grass Road,” said Crandall.
Crandall said the third man involved was later found at a home on the Robinson Road in Blaine. He was interviewed and released.
“Luckily, no one was injured during this altercation or the investigation into it. It took nearly 12 hours for deputies to complete their preliminary investigation, which will continue with a focus on the motive behind it,” said Crandall, noting it’s possible more criminal charges will follow.
Crandall wished to thank the other agencies who assisted with the investigation.
