Military Note

Private First Class Curtis T. Yockey, 19, of Butler, Pa., graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island on Sept. 13. PFC Yockey successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD Parris Island as one of 81 recruits of platoon 1065 in Delta Company 1st Battalion.  While in recruit training, Yockey qualified as an expert shooter on the rifle range with the M16-A4 rifle, and also attained first class scores on the physical fitness test and combat fitness test.
    He will report to Camp LeJeune in N.C. for one month at Military Combat Training, then Military Occupation Specialty School.  He is the son of Ron Yockey and Jill London Yockey. He is also the grandson of Larry and Mryna London of Hodgdon. He is a 2013 graduate of Butler Senior High School, and was presented with a Scholastic Excellence Award from the Marine Corps.
