McNally gains honor

    Olivia McNally of the University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls has been named player of the week in the Great South Athletic Conference for the week ending Jan. 19.
McNally, a Sherman native, had a big week, including a career-high 31 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals to lead the Owls in a road victory over St. Joseph’s of Vermont. The senior had game-highs of 20 points  against SUNY-Canton and GSAC foe Pine Manor.
For the week, McNally was 26 of 43 from the field. The 5-4 guard also added 12 rebounds and 13 assists and led the Owls’ defensive effort with 10 steals.
McNally leads the 11-4 Owls in scoring at 15.9 points per game and is currently ranked 14th nationally in the NCAA in three-point percentage.
