AUGUSTA — The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) presented its annual small business awards on Tuesday, June 17, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport. State and regional awards were presented to small business owners and small business champions from all over Maine.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and recognizing those who work so hard to succeed and create new jobs is truly an honor,” said Marilyn Geroux, SBA District Director for Maine. Katahdin Trust was recognized as SBA’s Top 7(a) Dollar Volume Lender in Maine. SBA’s 7(a) loans are used to establish new businesses or to assist in the acquisition, operation or expansion of an existing business.
