PDQ Door to give $20,000 to Maine charities
to celebrate 20th anniversary
In July, PDQ Door Company celebrated its 20th year in business. As part of its celebration, PDQ Door has pledged to give over $20,000 to Maine charities throughout the next year.
“We have always tried to be a socially responsible company by donating time, materials, and dollars to local charities,” Dave Plowman, owner of PDQ Door, said. “But for our 20th anniversary, we wanted to do something special for our friends and neighbors.”
PDQ Door plans to gather these donations by setting aside $10 of every door they sell and install through July 8, 2015. Plowman expects those donations to total in excess of $20,000, which PDQ Door will then distribute to select charities throughout the next year.
To choose which charities will receive donations, PDQ Door has asked the public to vote for their non-profit of choice through the PDQ Door website. Every three months, PDQ Door will give $1,000 to each of the five charities that receive the most votes.
At the end of the year, PDQ will have given over $20,000 to 20 charities throughout the state.
“Over the past 20 years, our customers throughout Maine have helped us grow our business from four employees to fifty employees,” Plowman said. “We’d like to thank them by giving them a chance to choose where these donations should go.”
