Shop’s rustic offerings suitable for any occasion
Whether you are looking for a gift for someone special (even yourself) or you want to do some redecorating, The Olde Rustic Attic in the Aroostook Centre Mall will have just what you are looking for.
Owners Stephen and Paula Reynolds have operated the shop for over eight years.
“The years have flown by. It doesn’t seem that long ago that we decided to open a shop full-time,” said Paula Reynolds. “We always rented space just for the Christmas season; it evolved from there.”
She said it’s been a lot of work but has been so rewarding too.
“We are changing things constantly. We expanded over a year ago and now have a new room that has more of a homey feeling,” Paula said.
The Reynolds go on buying trips three times a year, looking for traditional favorites as well as new items.
“This year we went to the big show in Atlanta. The show is huge, so we found some new vendors that we hadn’t seen before,” said Paula.
She said soon they’ll be putting out fall decor.
“We have lots of new Christmas items in stock already, but that stays in the boxes for a while longer. We have more trees than we have had before,” she said.
The Old Rustic Attic is well-stocked, from kitchen wares to home decorating essentials.
“We still carry primitive furniture, curtains, signs, prints, candles, braided rugs, greenery, berry garlands and picks, tart warmers and wax tarts. For the fall season, we have garlands, candle rings, pumpkins, scarecrows and much more,” Paula said.
Christmas is the Reynolds’ favorite season.
“We have lots of snowmen, Santas, trees, garlands, picks, rings, ornaments, lights and more,” she said.

Business hours are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
