CHS to charge admission for soccer games this fall

    Beginning Sept. 1, admission will be charged for high school soccer games at Caribou High School.
The fees will be $4 for adults and $2 for students. Seniors citizens residing in the RSU 39 district will be admitted at no charge.
Season tickets are available through the CHS athletic office. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for students. Call 493-4274 for more information.

Middle school boys split first 2 games

    The Caribou Middle School boys’ soccer team played its first two games of the season last week.
The Vikings of coach Steve Perreault opened with a 6-1 rout of Madawaska Aug. 18. Hayden Hunter had two goals and assisted on a third to lead the attack. Parker Deprey, Alex Bouchard, Brandon Jalbert and Austin Findlen had Caribou’s other goals. Bouchard also picked up a pair of assists. Cullin Caverhill, Tiernan Barbosa and Benoit Levesque all played strong games in the field to aid the victory.
On Thursday, Caribou was blanked by Fort Kent, 3-0, although Alex Hyde, Zach Gerakaris, Theo Strid, Kyle Boucher and Sawyer Deprey all had fine performances in the loss.

Color Presque Isle 5K

    The University of Maine at Presque Isle and the Wintergreen Arts Center are teaming up to present one of The County’s most unique and fun-filled 5K fundraisers — the second annual Color Presque Isle 5K.
The event, which serves as a benefit for arts programming, will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. starting at Riverside Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m.
The registration fee is $40. Children under 10 are free. The fee includes a T-shirt for the first 250 registrants and a color packet to use during the color throw. Check-in is Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Wintergreen Arts Center, and on Saturday starting at 8 a.m. at Riverside Park.
