MONTICELLO – Irma Bower, 78, of Monticello, died Aug 8, 2015, in Houlton. She was born April 24, 1937, in Benton, NB, Canada, the daughter of Clifford and Gladys (Leighton) Grant. Irma enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, doing puzzles, but especially her grandchildren. She is survived by three children, William Bower of Oakley, CA, Michael Bower and Janet Bower, both of Lancaster, CA; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry and Linda Grant, Stewart Grant, Lenny Grant, Paula and John DeWitt, Betty and Stan Kerr; two sisters-in-law, Faye Grant and Brenda Grant; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, David, Ronald and Blair; and three sisters, Sharon, Barbara and Verna. A graveside funeral service was held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at the Benton Community Cemetery, Benton, NB, Canada, where a time of fellowship immediately followed.
