EAGLE LAKE, Maine — A single-vehicle crash Saturday resulted in the driver losing control and crashing into an Eagle Lake apartment complex.

According to Sheriff Darrell Crandall, on Saturday afternoon, at approximately 3:47 p.m., the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single-vehicle crash in Eagle Lake.

Deputy Sheriff Reid Clark was assigned the crash investigation and determined that Sarah Parlin, 38, of Eagle Lake was operating a 2005 Chevy Impala in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Convent Road, attempting to retrieve a package from a mailbox. Parlin lost control of her vehicle when her foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator, causing the car to crash into the building.

The vehicle came to rest completely inside an apartment unit.

Fortunately, no one was inside the apartment at the time.  Parlin was the lone occupant of the vehicle and did not sustain any injuries.

The vehicle was towed.
