Discussions focus on UN’s Agenda 21 plan

PRESQUE ISLE and HOULTON — Hal Shurtleff, director and co-founder of Camp Constitution, will offer presentations entitled “Agenda 21 to Agenda 2030: An Expose,” Aug. 25 and 26.  

On Friday, Aug. 25, he will speak at Tang’s Chinese Cuisine, 60 North St., in Houlton at 6 p.m.

In Presque Isle, the session is Saturday, Aug. 26, at 9 a.m. at the Northeastland Hotel, 436 Main St.

Attendees at either session may order from the menu.

Sessions are also planned in Lincoln and Waldoboro.

Shurtleff will give an historic overview of Agenda 21, and define terms like “complete streets,” “sustainability,” “smart growth” and “carbon footprint.”  He will also discuss organizations behind Agenda 21, including the International Council for Local Environmental Initiative, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and Gateway One.  

He will also give examples of how local citizens have successfully stopped the implementation of Agenda 21 and methods to oppose it.

A U.S. Army veteran, Shurtleff has conducted more than 200 presentations on Agenda 21 throughout the Northeast and Midwest.
