SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Girl Scouts of Maine (GSME) announces that it will host Girls’ Night Out for potential members and volunteers at various locations this fall as a part of a this year’s recruitment initiative.
In Girl Scouts, girls unleash their inner G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) to become the superheroes of their own stories. The Girls’ Night Out events are free drop-in evenings when girls will test their superpowers and practice being a G.I.R.L. They’ll discover how they can participate in Girl Scouts throughout the year and about the important role adults play.
“Girl Scouts helps girls develop their full potential,” says Joanne Crepeau, CEO of Girl Scouts of Maine. “When a girl becomes a Girl Scout, she grows into a young woman who is self-confident, strong and compassionate. She learns how to build and maintain healthy relationships. She becomes more aware of the world around her and uses her skills and talents to make her world a better place.”
Girls’ Night Out events are just some of the many recruitment events that GSME will be holding this fall.
GSME is holding Girls’ Night Out on September 21 at the Cary Library in Houlton starting at 5:30 p.m., in Caribou at the Caribou Public Library on October 23, and at the Northeastland Hotel in Presque Isle on October 6 from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
