SAMUEL ANCEL WEEKS, JR., GROVELAND, FL – Samuel Ancel Weeks, Jr., 74, died on November 19, 2017, at South Lake Hospital. He was born on December 10, 1942, in Houlton, Maine, the son of Samuel Ancel and Phyllis (Farrar) Weeks Sr., of Amity.
Samuel proudly served his country through his service with the Army Reserves in both Maine and Connecticut. Samuel was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan and cheered them on through many hard years. Samuel had a love for horses that he shared with as many people as he could. He left a special memory and love for horses in a few of his nieces, Claudia, Loretta and Kelly. His love for family, good country music and homemade Italian food could always put a smile on his face.
Samuel is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Patricia (Clark); his son, Robert Weeks and his wife, Kay, of Worcester, MA; his daughter, Deborah Sigler and her husband Terry of Wildwood, FL; his granddaughter Audrey Weeks and her mom Karen Goodwin of Howey-in-the-Hills; his step granddaughter Keona of Worcester, MA; two special great-grandsons, T.J. and “Buddy”; one special great-granddaughter, Taylor; his brother, Colonel Leo Weeks (Retired) and his wife Agnes; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Frye and her husband Mike, Karina Weeks and Phil Weeks; one brother-in-law, Charles Clark and his wife Autumn; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his special companion, his dog, Missy.
Besides his parents Samuel was predeceased by his two sisters, Mary Ann and Daphene; and three brothers Bryce, John and Gregory.
A memorial service will be held in June 2018 in Maine. The date, time and location will be announced later. Interment will be at Saint Monica’s Cemetery in Cary, Maine, in June 2018. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the A.E. Howell Wildlife Conservation Center and Spruce Acres, 101 Lycette Road, North Amity, Maine 04471 in c/o Samuel Weeks Memorial.
