Husson University has announced that Ashley Matlock of Caribou has committed to join the Bangor school’s women’s tennis program.

Matlock played four years for the Vikings under coach John Habeeb and was undefeated in the regular season as a singles player during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Her 2017 and 2018 teams captured Class B North regional championship.

She made it to the Round of 16 in the state singles tournament the past two seasons.

In the fall, Matlock plans to major in health sciences at Husson, with plans of going on to graduate school to become a surgical physician assistant.

The Husson Eagles reached the North Atlantic Conference championship this spring, losing in the finals to Colby-Sawyer College.
