FORT KENT, Maine — Makaila Beck’s teammates on the Fort Fairfield High School girls softball team rushed to congratulate her after Beck hit a powerful home run during a game against Fort Kent Community High School Warriors Friday, May 3, in Fort Kent.
The ball effortlessly cleared the fence behind centerfield and bounced more than once across the parking lot.
Beck’s homer at the top of the seventh inning, despite including an RBI, was not enough to save the game for the Tigers, who fell to the Warriors 13-8.
