PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — New Ventures Maine will offer a series of three free workshops beginning Saturday, Oct. 19, designed to provide microenterprise owners the tools, skills and mentorship to build a successful digital presence.
Karin Petrin, Microenterprise Specialist with New Ventures, said workshops are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 19, as well as Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, in Computer Lab 101A in Folsom Hall on the University of Maine at Presque Isle campus.
Small business owners as well as those looking to start their own venture will have access to custom workshops created by GoDaddy and support from GoDaddy coaches in group and webinar settings. Additional resources include mentorship and networking opportunities. Topics will include branding, your domain name, evaluating your business, creating the right content, getting online and building a website, getting found using SEO, social media and e-commerce, among others.
Business owners taking part in the program will also receive customized marketing education assets, access to webinars, blogs, and videos pertaining to course curriculum, as well as free GoDaddy products to establish an online presence.
“A requirement for today’s businesses to remain relevant, this series will help entrepreneurs create an online presence from foundational digital content creation through complete development of a functional website,” said Petrin. “We are excited to bring this free program and connection to global digital marketing experts to Aroostook County’s rural entrepreneurs.”
