CARIBOU, Maine — Senate President Troy Jackson, D-Allagash, made a series of visits in Caribou on Monday, Oct. 21, as part of an effort to stay connected with the needs and concerns of the community.

A “Coffee with Seniors” event at the Caribou Public Library allowed seniors in the area a chance to voice their concerns and ask questions about the legislative session. The morning discussion was part of a full day of visits throughout Caribou, including stops at Plourde Furniture, Caribou High School and the police and fire stations.

“As a public official, it’s extremely important to be accessible to my constituents. With the Legislature in the off-session, visits like these help me better understand the needs of the communities I represent,” said President Jackson. “I want to thank everyone who came out to ask questions and voice their concerns.”

At the high school, Jackson took questions from students. He finished the day meeting with Fire Chief Scott Susi at the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department and Police Chief Michael Gahagan at the Caribou Police Department.
