PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Wintergreen Arts Center is featuring local photographer and musician Janice Santos in April.  The opening reception of her show will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 2, during Presque Isle’s First Friday Art Walk.

Santos grew up in East Freetown, Massachusetts, near Cape Cod.  She learned photography as an apprentice in a local photography studio.  She later spent time as a photojournalist in the Army National Guard.

She now calls Aroostook County her home and currently resides in Perham.

“We look forward to welcoming Janice back to Wintergreen,” said Dottie Hutchins, Wintergreen’s executive director.  “We showcased her photography a couple of years ago and are excited to see her new work.  And we always love it when Janice brings her guitar and sings for us.”

Over the past few years, Janice Santos has performed music locally as a duo with Purple Ruger.  She also gives solo performances and especially enjoys appearing at First Friday venues including the Wintergreen Arts Center.

The Opening Reception is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served.
