Many outdoor Masses and prayer services are planned for cemeteries around Maine on Memorial Day Weekend (May 29-31).
On Sunday, May 30, St. Mary of the Visitation Parish will hold a prayer service at the old cemetery behind St. Mary of the Visitation Church on 112 Military Street in Houlton. Fr. Kent Ouellette will preside at the service at 11:30 a.m., following the 10:30 a.m. Mass.
Also on Sunday, May 30 at 2 p.m. Fr. Ouellette will preside at a prayer service at St. Mary’s Evergreen Cemetery on Old County Road in Houlton.
Memorial Day prayers will be offered by Fr. Ouellette at the cemetery, located on Belvedere Road in Island Falls, on Saturday, May 29, at 6:30 p.m., following the 5:30 p.m. Mass at St. Agnes Church on 76 Sewall Street in Island Falls.
