The Maine Credit Union League’s 84th annual convention was held on May 13 in Portland. During this time, credit union representatives from across the state come together to network and share their experiences.
Along with a golf tournament and silent auction to benefit the Ending Hunger Campaign, an awards ceremony was held to honor credit unions and credit union personnel for their service during the past year.
“There is no limit to what credit unions will do to help their community and the work the team at NorState FCU put in to assist the Dr. Levesque School is a great example of this,” said Jen Burke, communications & public affairs manager at the Maine Credit Union League. “I’m glad we were able to present the credit union with a Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award at our annual convention. Their meaningful effort deserves to be highlighted.”
The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award is given to a credit union for its social responsibility projects within their community. “We never do these projects for the recognition or awards,” said Danielle Hebert, NorState FCU marketing director. “Our #drLevesqueSTRONG fundraiser held last summer was just one example of how NorState FCU lives the credit union philosophy of People-Helping-People every day.”
