3-Day Outlook: Wednesday, Oct. 30 – Friday, Nov. 1
A warm front will lift across the region this afternoon/evening with cloudy skies and a chance of rain in the morning tapering to showers in the afternoon before. Precipitation totals less than 1/10-inch are expected. Daytime highs reach the middle 50s. Cloudy skies are expected Wednesday night with a slight chance of showers through midnight. Lows in the lower 50s. Some patchy fog is possible overnight.
Thursday, NWS Caribou notes that “Upper level high pressure will be located off of the Carolina coast on Thursday morning. This will keep area on the northern periphery of the ridge with a quasi-stationary front hanging to the north of the [area]. As the day wears on heights will slowly be falling with front sagging south toward the St. John Valley.” Highs reach the mid-to-upper 60s with rainfall totals less than 1/10-inch expected. Thursday night, rain is likely as an area of low pressure approaches along the front from the Great Lakes. Overnight lows fall into the lower 50s.
The cold front moves through Friday with cloudy skies, breezy west/northwest winds and rain likely over the course of the day. Rainfall totals in the 1/10 to 1/4-inch range are expected. Rain tapers to showers Friday evening that linger into the overnight hours. Daytime highs occur early with temperatures in the low 60s, then fall over the course of the day to low in the upper 20/low 30s Friday night.

4- to 7-Day Outlook: Saturday, Nov. 2 – Tuesday, Nov. 5
Clouds diminish Saturday as a new ridge of high pressure builds into the Valley. Partly cloudy skies are expected Saturday night. Daytime highs in the low 40s and overnight lows in the middle 20s.
Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies are expected Sunday as high pressure crosses the state with highs in the mid-to-upper 40s. Sunday night, partly cloudy skies with lows falling into the low 30s are anticipated.
Monday looks partly sunny with highs in the middle 40s as a warm front lifts across the region ahead of a low pressure area near James Bay in Canada. A chance of showers develops overnight into Tuesday morning.
As the warm front lifts north and the associated cold front remains to the west, expect mostly cloudy skies with a chance of snow showers Tuesday morning and rain showers in the afternoon. Daytime highs top out in the upper 40s. Tuesday night, mostly cloudy skies with showers likely and lows in the mid-30s are expected based on present forecast model data.
