CARIBOU, Maine — On Wednesday, October 30 the third-ranked Caribou Vikings boys soccer team gave up an early goal to  No. 6 seed Gardiner, then scored three unanswered goals to pull out the 3-1 Class B North quarterfinal victory over the Tigers.

Kian Alves of the Tigers, who had defeated 11th-seeded Winslow 8-6 in the prelim game, took a pass from Chase Kanaris and opened the scoring just over five minutes into the game.

Caribou’s Landon Albair knocked in an Edison Sleeper cross to get the Vikings on the board, and Owen Corrigan’s hard shot on a pass from Declan Miller slipped by the Gardiner goalie to put Caribou up 2-1. Later in the first half, Kameron Rackler lofted a long entry volley from midfield, which took a high bounce over the Tiger goalie and into the net.
