Two small areas of low pressure will rapidly track across southern Maine this morning and this afternoon. A winter weather advisory is in effect for portions of Downeast Maine into this afternoon. A trough axis associated with the second clipper low will bring a chance of snow to the Valley this afternoon with around an inch or so of accumulation possible. Another cold night is in store as Arctic air remains across the region.
Thursday looks to be the coldest day of the period with daytime highs only in the low single digits above with overnight lows falling towards -10 Thursday night. Additionally, brisk northwest winds will push wind chill values as low as -30 Thursday morning and into the middle teens below Thursday night.
High pressure remains north of the SJV Friday with another clipper low affecting Downeast Maine with a chance of snow across the Crown. Snow linger Friday night into early Saturday.
