A primary cold front moves east followed by a weakening secondary front as the morning progresses. Surface high pressure builds in from the Great Lakes while an upper-level trough crosses the region tonight into Thursday. Rain is likely this morning tapering off by midday/early afternoon. North winds increase to 5-10 mph with gusts 20-25 mph this afternoon. Highs reach the mid-50s.
Tonight, mostly clear skies become partly cloudy as the upper trough moves across the Valley with Northwest wind in the 5-10 mph range gusting 15-20 mph overnight. Lows fall into the lower 30s overnight.
Partly sunny to partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures overspread the Valley Thursday as high pressure moves from the eastern Great Lakes into southern New England by Friday morning. Highs top out in the upper 40s with a slight chance of spotty showers for the region. Northwest wind will remain brisk, in the 10-15 mph range, gusting 25-30 mph in the afternoon. For Thursday night, widespread frost across the Valley and North Woods with lows falling into the mid-to-upper 20s for much of the area. Light west winds are expected.
Friday, mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-50s and light west winds are expected. Friday night, partly cloudy to mostly clear skies and lows in the mid-30s as a dry cold front moves through with high pressure north in Québec building into the Valley Saturday.
Saturday – Tuesday
Mostly sunny/clear skies over the SJV Saturday and Sunday with highs in the low 60s Saturday and upper 50s Sunday with lows in the lower-to-middle 30s Saturday night. For Indigenous Peoples Day, mostly sunny skies with highs climbing to near 60°F with overnight lows Monday night in the middle 30s.
Tuesday, a warm front brings increased cloudiness and a chance of isolated showers by the afternoon with highs in the low 60s. Tuesday night, some scattered showers are possible with lows dropping into the lower 40s.
