MADAWSKA, Maine — The Town of Madawaska is pleased to announce that Nathalie Morneault, municipal clerk for the town, has been selected to the 2026 Municipal Clerks Honor Roll, a national recognition program that honors municipal clerks for their dedication, professionalism and service to their communities.
As municipal clerk, Morneault plays a vital role in the daily operations of the Madawaska Town Office. Her responsibilities include maintaining records, supporting municipal operations, assisting residents, coordinating meetings and helping ensure the efficient delivery of local government services.
“Nathalie is one of those people every organization hopes to have but very few are fortunate enough to find,” Town Manager Dave Daigle said. “She is knowledgeable, dependable and always willing to help. Much of what she does happens behind the scenes, but her impact is felt throughout the town office every single day. This recognition is incredibly well deserved.”
Morneault was characteristically humble about the honor.
“It’s an honor to be recognized, but there are a lot of people who contribute to making our community successful,” she said. “I’m just happy to do my part.”
In addition to her work with the town, Morneault serves assSecretary of the Northern Maine Ice Busters, the volunteer organization behind the world-record-setting Long Lake Ice Carousel. Through her involvement with the organization, she helps support efforts that have brought international attention to the St. John Valley while showcasing the volunteer spirit and community pride that define northern Maine.
A lifelong resident of the region, Morneault lives in Madawaska with her husband Joshua, daughter Sadie, stepson Dominick and their dog Lilly. Friends, coworkers and community members know her as someone who is always willing to lend a hand and quietly works behind the scenes to help make her community a better place.
The Town of Madawaska congratulates Morneault on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her continued dedication to the residents of Madawaska and the greater St. John Valley community.
